Snap shots from Del's 72hours in Penang

I don't know how the idea of Delphne coming to Penang (my second home) came about. Probably as we were moping about in a cafe on a hot Singaporean afternoon we thought, hey! let's pack up and leave for Penang!

An hour flight later we were in the land I left my heart at.

Did the Penang heritage walk again as I did here too.

Scenes like this everywhere you turn. How to not love Penang!

MY FAVOURITE CHEE CHEONG FUN.

The bigger plate of ccf was mine, and the smaller was for Del and Da to share. Ain't nobody touching my CCF!

Nommiest Roti-john, like, ever.

Near the hotel I was staying was a mamak 'restaurant' called Jiao Sai (Bird poo). One night me and my cousin just NEEDED their roti john. So in the dead of the night, decked in PJs, we had to sneak out of the hotel to go satisfy our desires necessities. Yes, sneak. Cos all the adults in our family are so against Jiao Sai and since the hotel's my Grandfather's, our family's in like every corner of the hotel. So ninja mode on, we had to sneak out cos they would question us about where we were going at like 2am. But it was so funny, cos we simply had to walk out normally cos all the adults were so engrossed in their Candy Crush games. Score. But it has 9/10 in their foursquare page okay! Uh uh uh!

My handsome cousin.
The handsomest came to pick us up to bring us to Balik Pulau for the beeest Penang Laksa the next day! And fruit ice as dessert.

View from my uncle's new condo which has a mini infinite pool wah lao.

My cutes!

My 93 year old grandpa's mind was so confused that he kept forgetting the condo belongs to his own son! And he kept saying how he wants to stay here for the night, and asked us not to call the police or tell anyone. Hehehehehehe.

My mum and her brother are definitely siblings.

Roll out of bed and into MaccyD's kinda day.

From Old town white coffee to Black Ball.

From Black Ball to Lok Lok.

My favourite retard. <3

Lok lok to Ice Kacang marking the food spam end.

Bye bye Del! Hope you enjoyed Penang.

Beauty

My parents admiring the ring right after their engagement

Needless to say I have taken over my mums knitted jumper and in the process of taking over my dads. As knit wear weather ensues, my mood is suddenly lifted. Moar rain! Moar moar!!

A new chapter?

In 20 days, I'll be trudging into a new chapter of life, the chapter most of my friends have already entered; University. University was never an option for me, it was always a 'yeah, duh, of course you're going to university' for me. Now, I use the word 'me', but in fact I mean 'a lot of people out there'. Why are so many of us stuck in this orifice that university is a must? Not that my parents ever pressured me into going to uni, I think they'd accept and agree if I don't want to go. University was just there, it was a step in life that I couldn't skip, like pooping or drinking water.

My use of 'trudging' makes it clear that I'm not looking forward or excited for the start of university. But I think (and hope) that is partly because I'm just fresh out of travelling Asia and partly because I'm so content with life right now. With an amazing job, amazing people surrounding me and also amazing amount of sleep I'm getting.

I've been living my life as if I'll wake tomorrow with a tuft of grey hair and wrinkles outlining my eyes, with my aspirations and dreams slipping through my helpless fingers. Its sort of a vicious cycle; I'm not excited about uni because my dreams seem to be slipping away. My dreams seem to be slipping away, that's why I'm not excited about uni. But, if anything, my life is just about starting. I was chatting to my friend, Sophia (shout out WOOP WOOP) about my 'unexcitedness', and she said 'Maybe that's because you've already seen so much of what life has to offer.' And I realised its the opposite, its cos I haven't seen enough of what life has to offer. And i further realised (a lot of realisations happening) that who says I can't see what life has to offer whilst at uni?! University's not the end of the world, Naomi Berry.

So, I'm taking this big gamble. A big £9000 gamble, I'm entering university without so much as a tinge of excitement. If I really don't think its the thing for me then, well, life can suck so move on. If I enjoy if so much, then life only sucks sometimes.

And lastly, what I wanna say is; take your time, enjoy life a lil. Take a gap year, or five gap years, get married (okay maybe not this), work out what's right for you. Surround yourself with people in uni, who's finished uni, who's not going to uni etc etc. Take your time to listen to yourself and not your parents, friends etcetc. (Motivational siaaaa).

Rant over, you can go take a dump now.

Enjoy life. xxx

Summer going ons- Be a tourist in your own city

Taking a break from my travelling posts (I still have loads O_O), I need to share about this amazeballs day I had with Ninamma.

Ninamma has collected quite a few titles during the time I've known her. From Kpop-partnerincrime, workstories-buddy, to colleague, bubbleteafluctuated-friends (I just made that up). But now, I can add photog-buddy!

During a recent bubble tea outing, we both suddenly felt the need to take our cameras out for a ride. And so we decided on Brick Lane, seeing as we both haven't been there, and a pretty hot tourist spot in London.

I like Brick Lane already

How on earthhh, did they do that?

A lil's bit of shopping in a really really awesome shop called Blitz {http://www.blitzlondon.co.uk/} If your heart is overwhelmed with a possibility of it exploding when you see vintage clothes, this is the shop to be at. Affordable, genuine vintage clothing AND a student discount. This is where its at!

Everything about Brick Lane was cool. I was so inspired during my trip there, it made me so pumped up about my future with my dreams and aspirations! Adrenaline rushhhhhh.

Aladin

A curry place which was 'listed by the BBC as ‘One of the World’s Best Curry Houses’ and Priased(sp) by HRH Prince Charles (YES PRINCE CHARLES)' and 'declared as the Winner for Best European Restaurant Awards and Voted No.1 on WhatPolls Best Brick Lane Curry for 2 years in a row'! Btw, I find it weird that curry is Britain's national dish.

Its so fluffy I'm gonna die!

Favourite place in London

Preedy

A spot where Nina fell in love with that very cyclist.

Another photog-day is much needed.

Continue being dope. xxx
