Seoul cleansing- Part Three

Greetings from the so-called-by-themselves 'The heart of Asia', Taiwan! So far they have been proving themselves correct about being the Heart of Asia! I already adore this place. But let's not get de-railed, I have a backlog of Korea posts!

Day 6- Mount Namsan and Real Coffee

Despite horrible London-like weather, we decided to go up Mount Namsan. So we got there by cable car from Myeongdong. It was about a ten minute up-hill walk from Myeongdong Station to the cable car. I only found out later that there was an elevator from ground floor that brought you straight there! So, we bought a one way ticket for the cable car because we (I) wanted to walk down from mt. Namsan. Mt. Namsan and N Seoul tower was the thing I was most excited about for this trip! Totally not because of Boys over Flower! Shh.

In the cable car! (Where Geum Jan Di and Gu Jun Pyo spent a cold night. heheheheh)

Stood at the front of the cable car. But I overheard this Korean girl say the best view is actually at the back. And the second time I took the cable car (at night on a different day) I stood at the back. And it really is the best view!

Horrible foggy cold-looking weather no?

(With reference to High Kick through the Roof) this is where Shin Se Kyung and her sister waited for her dad. Heheheheheh

Nothing has ever made me feel so lonely being Beau-less more than this. The famous Love Padlocks! (So commercialised) (So not being miserable)

Aw. I really hope Katherine and Michael are still together!! (How awesome would it be if I somehow managed to find them through this!)

I broke the bench. And the one next to it.

Our lovely walk down

We definitely worked up a good appetite for our lunch. We both fancied Bulgogi, and we found a restaurant selling DakJi Bulgogi. We didn't know what DakJi meant, and it is NEVER wise to order something you don't know in Asia. Siriusly, DO NOT do that. But thankfully for us! DakJi is octopus. We were really nervous while waiting for our food to come about what DakJi is. I had my dictionary out and everything!

Ikan Bilis banchan is my all time favourite! And Jolene doesn't like Ikan Bilis (Oh yus!) And the really red banchan is actually raw octopus! It was SO good! I found myself craving it a few days later. Haha

Thank you local.

Strange gas pumps! They lie in the air.

While on a hunt for Samgyupsal a few days before, we chanced upon a really quaint homely cafe. We vowed to come back here again and so we did. (I ended up going there many more times). They always have a movie showing, but on mute, they have books and wifi and everything! What attracted me was this small elevated pit of cushions where you can go and sit/lie. (There was a group there when we went, so I didn't take any photos. But if you're imagining something awesome, there you're on the right tracks).

Tucked away in quiet Hapjeong, its surprising how many celebs have gone there!

Should've pocketed that Rabbit pretzel holder.

and that coaster.

Cafe hopping's how I spend most of my time (and money) back in London. So I was really in my zone here! I was so inspired about everything and my future as soon as I stepped in!

Day 9- Gangnam-gu

This day we met up with Jolene's family's friend, Moon. It was so awesome not having to plan anything of one day and letting a local bring us around. We went to Gangnam and had samgyupsal.

D: </3 I do miss this.

And it really does live up to its rich, fashionable reputation.

Little cute dancing things!

We headed to COEX mall.

They have this (white caucasian) robot walking around to help you. So awesome.

Guy with crutches = Moon. COEX aquarium looked worth paying a visit to. But apparently its not. (According to reviews)

Day to night in Gangnam = Bliss!

Smoking's ban from this point onwards! How cool?

Bidding farewell to our one-day tour guide!

Jollypong, we WILL make this long distance relationship work! <3

Being in Korea, you have to try their raved fried chicken right?! We did, we take-awayed it back to the guesthouse. We were still full when we started eating. But thankfully there was a HUGE group of Koreans staying that night, so we thought we'll just share it with them. But nooooooo, we polished them off like nobody's business!

Close down of worthit-cholesterol.

BAM!

Easily the best dinner of Korea!

Day 7 and 8 is non-existent in this post. Day 7 we were at Lotte world! And pictures are on my phone, I'll be blogging about that next! Day 8 was a day of shopping, boring stuff

Hope you enjoyed!
